چکیده
Urinary tract infection is the most common of all pediatric bacterial infections. This study aims to determine efficacy rapid diagnostic tests vs gram stain as against gold standard test (urine culture) and find out validity each screening for early detection urinary in children. A cross-sectional was conducted on children aged between 3- 15 years suspected infections from August 2020 January 2021. Data collection facilitated by using a predesigned checklist. The specimen collected sterile, leak proof container clean catch midstream technique subjected urine microscopy, dipstick nitrite leukocyte esterase, stain, culture sensitivity. Using test, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative value other were determined. patient's mean age 5.16 ± 2.7 years, half group 3-5 years. majority patients male (54%). Fever (64%) major symptom, followed pain abdomen (52%) dysuria (40%). Escherichia coli organism isolated (54%), Klebsiella (22%). Urine has sensitivity specificity 95% 100% respectively. very sensitive specific diagnosing compared tests.
